The Society of Festeros reminds of the importance of obtaining or renewing the muzzle-loading firearms licence in order to be able to shoot

All those festeros and festeras who in 2017, with the implementation of the new Explosives Regulations, obtained the muzzle-loading firearms licence to shoot during the Moors and Christians fiestas will have to renew the permit, as the title is valid for five years.

According to the state regulations established in the ITC-26, in addition to the weapons licence, any member interested in taking part in the arquebusier events needs, in addition to the aforementioned weapons licence, to complete a training course such as the one which took place on Sunday 3rd April in the assembly hall of the Sociedad de Festeros and which was attended by 70 people. The Sociedad de Festeros stress that “this training day is only necessary for those who have not taken the course before“.

 

In order to facilitate the process of obtaining the arquebusier weapons licence, the Sociedad de Festeros has signed a collaboration agreement with the Centro Médico La Glorieta, which provides a 50% discount on the total cost of the compulsory medical certificate of psychophysical aptitude.

In addition, it should be remembered that this procedure is carried out by the Sociedad de Festeros and any festero or festera over the age of 18 can obtain the arquebusier weapons licence by sending the Medical Certificate with a photocopy of their ID card and the relevant administrative fees.

The Society of Festeros reminds us of the importance of renewing this permit in order to be able to participate in any of the arcabucería events during the coming Semana Grande and its president, Vicent Pla, encourages “the festive persons to obtain or renew the licence in order to enjoy the gunpowder of the coming party“.
