Last October 1st, a delegation of the Moors and Christians of Ontinyent, headed by Vicente Pla, president of the Society of Festeros del Santísimo Cristo de la Agonía and a representation of the Mudejar group formed by the captain Alberto Climent, the president of the group Carlos Sarrió, The Primer tro Juan José Lliso and the Mudejar in charge of the captaincy’s cultural project, Rafael Ferrero, attended the reception organised by the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan at the Intercontinental Hotel in Madrid on the occasion of the celebration of the twenty-eighth anniversary of its independence.

The following day this delegation was received at the Embassy by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Spain, H.E. Mr. Jakhongir Ganiev, and the Consul, Hnble. Mr. Sardor Sadikov, where they held an extensive working meeting, in which diplomats were presented with various products typical of Ontinyent.

Both were very pleased with the cultural project of the captaincy of the Mudejar comparsa for the year 2020, expressing their commitment to support and collaboration.
