The Governing Board of the Society of Festivals of the Blessed Christ of Agony has appointed Jorge Soler Carbó, director of the late Chimo March 2018.
Jorge Soler was born in Albaida. Study Oboe with Rafael Soler, Jesús Fuster, Francisco Salanova and Miguel Morellà, obtaining the title of Professor Superior of Oboe. He has attended advanced courses with Francisco Salanova, Dorin Gliga, Thomas Hindermühle, Dudu Carmel and Pertar Hristov. He has also attended chamber music interpreting courses taught by Quintet Cuesta. Graduate in Management for the Vall d’Albaida School. He has studied management with José Rafael Pascual, conducting perfection courses with Jan Cober, Henry Adams, Eugene Corporon, José María Cervera and José R. Pascual.
He collaborated on various recordings such as Oboe and English with the bands: Ontinyent Artistic Artistic Union, the Nova Musical Society of Alcoy, the Musical Artistic Grouping “El Trabajo” of Xixona, the Unió Unió Musical de Muro, “Filharmonia” Wind Orchestra and also with Albaida’s “Eduardo Torres” Vocal Group. He also has as Director different recordings with the bands:
Albaida Musical Circle, Symphonic Band “Todo por la Música” of Ontinyent and Musical Union Benicadell of Castelló de Rugat. Collaborate with the Municipal Orchestra of Valencia, the City of Palma Orchestra, the Ciudad de Granada Orchestra, the Albacete Symphony Orchestra and the Chamber Orchestra of the Empordà, highlighting its participation in the 50th Anniversary of the Municipal Orchestra of Valencia and in the prestigious Festival of Orchestras of Cannes (France) with the Orquesta Ciudad de Palma.
He is a founding member of several chamber groups such as the wind Quintet “La Vall d’Albaida”, the Wind Quintet “Amadeus”, the Duo Oboe-Guitar, the wind Quintet “ESMORZANDO”, and also belongs to the ‘TETRAFONÍES’ Chamber Music Group with whom he has performed numerous concerts for oboe and piano. He has been invited as oboe concertwriter for the “Luis Milán” Orchestra of Xàtiva, the “La Nova” Musical Artistic Society of Xàtiva, the Orchestra “Kamerata Orquestale”, and the “Camerata Gomis” Orchestra of the Vall d ‘Albaida. He was the director of the Enovense Musical Group band from January 2000 to March 2001. He was the director of Palomar’s “Al-Palombar” Choir during the years 1999 and 2000. He was the director of the Beniatjarense Musical Society band of Beniatjar from March 2001 to March 2005, winning for four consecutive years the 1st Prize at the Bands Entrance to the Moors and Christians Festival of Albaida. He directed the young band of the “Primitiva” Musical Circle of Albaida from September 1999 to July 2008. From April 2005 to November 2006 he directed the Band and Orchestra of the Artistic Art Center of Xàbia. From October 2006 until December 2016, he directed the Band “UNIÓ MUSICAL BENICADELL” of Castelló de Rugat, with which he won the 1st Prize at the XXII National Music Contest of Moors and Christians of Elda in 2007, 2nd Prize of the second section of the XXXII Provincial Contest of Bandes of Valencia of the year 2008. The 2nd Prize of the second section of the XXXVIII Provincial Band Competition of Valencia of the year 2014 and the “EUTERPE” Prize 2016 for the recording of the CD Amadaràs. He also directed the “ARS NOVA” Orchestra of Castelló de Rugat from September 2011 until July 2016.
He was an Oboe professor at the Musical Athenian Music Schools and Musical Union of Cocentaina, “Amancio Amorós” by Agullent, Ontinyent Artistic Artistic Union, “Primitiva” Musical Circle of Albaida, “Ritmus” Music Hall of Xàtiva , “La Nueva” by Xàtiva ,. Professor of Oboe and instrumental ensemble at the “Ad Líbit” Music School of Ontinyent, oboe professor and head of studies at the Municipal School of Albaida; and oboe professor at the “Melchor Gomis” Conservatory of Ontinyent and “Arturo Soria” in Madrid. He was a professor of Aesthetics, History of Art, Chamber Music and Orchestra at the “Luis Milán” Professional Conservatory of Xàtiva. He was also Assistant Professor of Miguel Morellà in the Oboe Improvement Courses organized by Albaida City Council.
He is currently a professor of oboe at the “Da Capo” Music Schools of Albaida, Aielo de Malferit and Castelló de Rugat. Professor of oboe and orchestra at the Professional Conservatory “Luis Milán” in Xàtiva, as well as professor of oboe, chamber music, orchestra and also director of the Municipal Professional Conservatory of Albaida. He is an oboe teacher and instrumental ensemble of the Summer Colony, courses organized by Ontinyent’s “Ad Libitum” Music School. He is a member of the “Filharmonia” Wind Orchestra and collaborates with Ontinyent’s “Ontinyent Symphony Orchestra” and with the “Sedajazz Clàssic Orchestra”. Since October 2002, he has directed the Ontinyent Symphonic Band in which he won the 1st Prize in the third section of the XXXV Valencia Provincial Bands Contest of 2011.
