Data of interest
In 1975, two groups of festivalgoers from the Marineros and Saudites troupes decided to take on the challenge of founding a new, young and dynamic troupe: TAIFAS. Fernando Cambra was in charge of designing her gala dress.
The costume consists of a blue and white turban, a blue tunic embroidered in gold, a white cloak also embroidered in gold, a sash in blue, white and gold, blue slippers and white socks. Daily wear consists of sky blue djellaba and blue slippers, blue fez hat and leather bag.
It was the summer of 1976 when the troupe was born at the Moors and Christians festivities of Ontinyent, and since then we have performed in three Captaincies and two Embassies.
It is also worth highlighting the two Moorish marches dedicated to the troupe: Opus 14 by Rafael Benavent Maiques and Taifes 98 by Daniel J. Ferrero Silvage on the occasion of the captaincy that year.
In 2014, the Taifa Saül Gómez i Soler dedicated the “Trakelterry” march to the squad of the same name and to which it belongs.
In 2017 they premiered the Moorish march “Siltai”, a work by Saül Gómez i Soler, dedicated to the First Tro of that year Silvia Soler.
