The constitution of the Comparsa Abencerrajes was approved by the Junta de Festes on November 12, 1980. However, its definitive growth did not occur until 1986, the year in which the comparsa received a large influx of components coming from the Mariners, Almogàvers and Students groups, with the modification of the Statutes and the gala dress.
Since that moment, its progression has been unstoppable, currently being one of the most numerous troupes at our Moors and Christians Festivals.
The design of her current gala dress is a work of Flor Azorín, using white, black and gold as the only colors. The jellaba adopts the classic forms of this Moorish clothing in our festivals, combining green, black and white stripes.
