Work Meeting with the Minister of Innovation and Industry at the Festers Society

The Minister of Innovation, Industry, Trade, and Tourism, María Àngela Cano García, visited the Festers Society of Ontinyent in a day that combined institutional engagement and tradition. Accompanied by the Regional Secretary of Industry, Trade, and Consumer Affairs, Felipe Carrasco Torres, the minister had the opportunity to learn firsthand about the city’s festive heritage.

During the visit, the minister took a guided tour of the Festive Museum, where she was able to appreciate the history and cultural value of the Moors and Christians festivities. Later, she signed the entity’s honor book, leaving a record of her support for Ontinyent’s festive tradition. The day continued with a meeting in the boardroom of the Festers Society, attended by the Mayor of Ontinyent, Jorge Rodríguez; the Councilor for Fairs, Festivals, and Traditions, Àngels Muñoz; the Councilor for Tourism, María José Alhambra; the Vice President of the Festers Society, Sofía Lara; the Treasurer, Salva Revert; and the Director of the Festive Museum, Mari Paz Sanz.

After the meeting, attendees shared a lunch at the Casino of the Festers Society. Natalia Enguix, First Vice President of the Valencia Provincial Council, also joined the gathering. Special thanks were given to Natalia Enguix for making an effort not to miss the working meeting. Despite her busy schedule, she was able to join us as soon as she had a free moment.

The President of the Festers Society requested the meeting to address key issues such as the granting of the title of Festivities of International Tourist Interest. The minister, demonstrating a receptive attitude, proposed a future meeting with the Regional Secretary of Tourism to further discuss these matters.

This visit reaffirms the institutions’ commitment to the culture and traditions of Ontinyent, opening new avenues of collaboration to strengthen and promote its festivities on an international level.
